Career And Technical Education
The Early Childhood Education Career Pathway is embarking upon our fifth year for the 2017-2018 school year. We are excited about student performance and program growth. Our Early Childhood Education Pathway offers our students a rich curriculum/experience based career training program. Upon successful completion of the pathway, students will gain the credentials necessary to become leaders in the Early Childhood Education profession.

The Career Pathway requirements are as follows:

Year 1-Human Development offers a foundational framework for the concepts and theories that support Early Childhood Education. The curriculum content includes human development a lifespan perspective from birth until death.

Year 2- Child Development offers specified instruction and coursework on theories, practices, trends and competencies that are relevant in the study of young children. This course content includes, the physiological,cognitive,social, and psychological study of young children ages birth to age eleven.

Year 3- Early Childhood Education offers students intense teacher training coursework. Coursework includes preparing lessons, assessing the young child, observing the young child, supervision and management, and entrepreneurship.

*(New for the 2017-2018 School Year)Dual Enrollment with Wilmington University ECE 111(Health Safety and Nutrition) & Family,Community and School Partnerships.
