Audrey Greene
Hello!

This is my first year as Dance Teacher at Central Middle School and Dover High School and I am so excited to be working with the wonderful students and staff of Capital School District. As the first ever full-time Dance Teacher employed by CSD, I feel fortune to be in this position and cannot wait to see how the Dance Programs at both Central Middle School and Dover High School continue to blossom. I am currently teaching 7th Grade Intro to Dance, 8th Grade Intro to Dance, and Beginning Dance at Dover High School which is open to Grades 9-12.

Both students and parents should feel free to contact me at any time with comments/questions/concerns.
I look forward to getting to know you but in the meantime, here's a little bit about me:

I grew up right here in Dover, DE and received my dance training from Teresa Emmons at the Dance Conservatory/Ballet Theatre of Dover. I spent two years at DHS but transferred to Cab Calloway School of the Arts and graduated in 2011. Then I was off to George Mason University where I earned a BFA in Dance with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy. I am earning my Teacher Certification through University of Delaware's ARTC Program and I have a beautiful baby daughter who loves dancing almost as much as I do. It is very important to me that not only my daughter, but anyone who I teach, can be enlightened by the power of Dance. In our society there is a lack of interpersonal relationships, self-awareness, and creative outlets. Since Dance uses the body as its instrument, there is a primal opportunity for people to unite. We are all humans with hearts that beat, we can all dance! Dance connects the mind and body like no other activity/athlete/artist, and everyone should be exposed to this magic. It is my hope to spread my knowledge and love of Dance to as many people in our community as possible so that we can all benefit from the many joys Dance has to offer.

"The dance, oldest and most human of the arts, because it is performed with the human body, is the language which transcends all barriers, all boundaries, all limitations of spoken tongues. It is proof of man's oneness."
